Ecovacs' New Robovac Identifies and Pretreats Dried Stains
Ecovacs has announced a new Deebot X12 OmniCyclone robot vacuum that uses AI to detect and pretreat dried stains on floors before cleaning them.
Why it matters
This AI-powered stain detection and pretreatment feature could make robot vacuums more effective at deep cleaning floors in a single run.
Key Points
- 1The Deebot X12 OmniCyclone uses cameras and AI to identify dried stains like muddy paw prints or spilled soda
- 2Before cleaning the stain, the robovac sprays a mixture of water and cleaning solution to soften the mess
- 3This pretreatment step makes it easier for the vacuum's roller mop to scrub away the stain in a single pass
- 4The Deebot X12 OmniCyclone is available now for $1,499 and includes the OMNI Station docking station
Details
Ecovacs has developed a new robot vacuum, the Deebot X12 OmniCyclone, that leverages computer vision and AI to identify and pretreat dried stains on floors before cleaning them. The robovac uses its onboard cameras to detect spills, muddy footprints, and other stubborn messes. Instead of just trying to scrub them away, the X12 first sprays a mixture of water and cleaning solution in the stain's path to soften it up. This pretreatment step makes it easier for the vacuum's roller mop to fully remove the stain in a single cleaning pass. The Deebot X12 OmniCyclone is available now for $1,499, which includes the OMNI Station docking station that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin.
