Cortex Code Expands Availability and Capabilities in Snowflake

Snowflake has significantly expanded the availability and capabilities of its Cortex Code platform, which provides a persistent AI coding agent integrated directly into Snowflake's data cloud. The key updates include general availability of Cortex Code in the Snowsight web interface, allowing users to leverage the AI agent for coding, discovery, administration, and cost management directly within Snowflake's workspace. Additionally, the Cortex Code CLI now supports native Windows environments, expanding access beyond just Linux and macOS. Snowflake also introduced Agent Teams, which enable coordinated orchestration of multiple Cortex Code agents working together on large-scale tasks with shared task lists and dependency management. Finally, Snowflake has added several new agent skills, including ones for cost intelligence, machine learning, Streamlit app development, OpenFlow workflows, and advanced Cortex AI functions.
